I have set things up to show the 6 most recent posts in the style of the template you purchased for us to get up and running, so be sure to make at least that many. You’ll want to write a small blurb for each event, add your images, choose a “Featured Image” and include a key phrase or sentence in the “Excerpt” section. Both the “Featured Image” and “Excerpt” are in the Post portion of the editor panel on the right side of the WordPress editor screen. I’ve added each so you can see what they look like.
Do note that the “Featured Image” is not populated automatically; it must be set. I’d also highly recommend you place that “Featured Image” at the top of the content section, like I’ve done for this example.
For the “Excerpt”, you’ll want to keep the text length fairly short so it doesn’t get cut off when being displayed. This is a trial and error process, so don’t be afraid to experiment before finalizing your posts and sharing them with your audience!
Beyond that, the blue “+” next to the WordPress logo in the editor is where you can find all of the sorts of blocks you can put into your posts. I’d recommend duplicating the Drafts I’ve included to make each new post, so it’s just a matter of swapping content and troubleshooting if need be. Consistency of formatting can be easy, it just takes a little bit of setup!
There are plenty of great free resources for both Showit and WordPress, so make sure to check those out if you want to learn more.
Thank you for your business!
-Mike 🙂
PS: Here’s a test section with each text style so you can see what it looks like on the front end. Happy blogging!
